DAY (01): Morning Tour: Lolei is worth a visit just for its exquisite carvings and inscriptions which some consider being the finest of Rolous Group. It was built in the reign of King Yasovarman I, dating from late 9thcentury 893 A.D, dedicating to the memory of his father and Shiva-God. Preah KO “Sacred Bull”, the funerary temple which consisted of a group of six brick towers which dating from the late 9thcentury in the reign of King Indravarman I 879. Bakong, the state temple of king Indravarman I (877-889) at Hari-Hara-laya, the capital utilized by king Jayavarman II just before he moved his capital, Mahendraparvata down from Kulen Mountain in 850 AD. It is the most impressive and significant temple mountain at Rolous Group, sitting at the center of the city Hari-Hara-laya. It was constructed at the end of 9thcentury 881 dedicating to Shiva-God.Then take an experienced Ox Cart ride at Bakhong to see the real life of people. Lunch is included. Afternoon Tour: Pre Rup, a pyramid temple-mountain which stands on a high base with three narrow tiers serves as a pedestal for the 5 brick towers. It was erected in the mid of the 10thcentury 961 during the reign of King Rajendravarman II, dedicating to Shiva-God and his ancestors. East Mebon stands on what was once an island in the Eastern Baray, and was built by Rajendravarman II in the mid of 10thcentury as a shrine to his ancestors and temple’s divinity Rajendresvara was dedicated on Friday 28th January 953 at about 11AM. Bakheng is also home to the first of the temple-mountains built in the vicinity of Angkor Wat. King Yasovarman I (889-910) built it as his state temple which located in the center of the capital, Yasodhara-pura. The main attraction of this temple is the sunset view of Angkor area. DAY (02): Morning Tour: Kbal Spean was constructed in the 11thcentury in the reign of king Suryavarman I and his son, king Udayadityavarman II. Kbal Spean is a spectacularly carved riverbed; set deep in the jungle to the north-west of Angkor Area. More commonly referred to in English as “the River of a thousand Lingas,” the name actually means (Bridge Head) a reference to the natural rock bridge at the site. Shiva-Lingas have been elaborately carved into the riverbed, and images of Hindu deities are dotted about the area. It was left in the jungle for centuries ago and re-discovered in 1969, when EFEO ethnologist Jean Boulbet was shown the area by a local hermit; the area was soon off-limits due to the civil war, only becoming safe again in 1998. Lunch is at Borey Sovann restaurant near Kbal Spean. Afternoon Tour: Banteay Srei, the brilliant beauty and enchantment of Banteay Srei is nearly everyone’s favorite historical temple. Banteay Samrè refers to an ethnic group of mountain people, who inhabited the region at the base of Phnom Kulen and were probably related to Khmers. It is believed that some people living in the preah Dak village are also the descendents of Samre. Banteay Samre temple dated from the same period of the construction of Angkor Wat and was built by Suryavarman II in 1113-1150, dedicating to Vishnu God. Dinner is on your own personal account.
DAY (03): Morning Tour: Angkor Wat is the intricately carved Khmer ruin in Angkor Complex and it one of the world’s most impressive temples. Lunch is included. Afternoon Tour: We continue to visit the magnificent ruins of Angkor Thom City South gate, Bayon is the favorite temple of the visitors because it is famous for its four smiling-stone faces of Buddhisattva-Avalokitesvara. Then visit minor temples. End of your tour, accommodation is excluded.
